While beauty is treading new quarters and there are newer definitions of beauty being written down every day, you would simply get scared before wearing these new pair of heels called the Scary Beautiful Heels.
We have a number of celebrities sporting new, crazy versions of accessories that would look totally absurd on us but trust me; no one would want to come close to these heels. Named appropriately, these heels are truly scary and beautiful in its own respect. The creator Lyall Coburn described the heels as a challenge to current body ideals by “…inflicting an unexpected new beauty standard.” When you look at the pictures however you would say that it’s more of a pain-inflicting exercise on the model.
The heels are a collaboration between the artist Leanie van der Vyver and Dutch show designer René van den Berg. The Scary Beautiful Heels are in fact going to be nominated for a design prize at Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Meant to send shivers down your spine, these heels will grab your attention at the first go (be it for its scary look or for the weird shape). The heels have been made to arch dramatically and are stilt-like.
True to its name, the heels are ‘reverse’ in style. The heeled part is in the front whereas the back of the feet will be worn by your front part of the feet. So once you wear it, you will have a straight back while your shin will be against the front ‘heel’ end of the design. It is an experiment to make people walk in a different style. Obviously you will have to balance yourself in order to walk in them. Imagine the amount of effort you’d have to put in to walk in them coupled with how weird you’d look walking in a reverse heel and not to forget the agonised screams; would you like to try them on?
