You know how plastic has infiltrated into our waters and created a terrifying status for our riverbeds. Remember what happened to the city of Mumbai in India which is situated by the Arabian Sea when the Mithi River flowing through it led to the one of the worst-ever flooding? Due to cloud burst and clogged drains, the entire city was flooded by the water which led to a massive loss of lives. The plastic bags that we use in our everyday lives was one of the major reasons why the drains remained clogged and water got accumulated on the city streets for a long time. Finding a solution to this problem Marine Drones have built. Let’s see how it works.
Designed by Elie Ahovi, Adrien Lefebvre, Philomene Lambaere, Marion Wipliez, Quentin Sorel and Benjamin Lemoal this Marine Drone is a large semi-circular shaped object. It is basically an oversized pool net which has sensors attached to it. Now the net on this machine drifts in the water to collect plastic trash in a very trendy way. You can send several of these Marine drones out in the sea waters to collect this plastic trash.
These marine drones are very easy on the aquatic life so all those environmentalists who thought that this machine could destruct marine life then they are in for a pleasant surprise. The machines have an infrasound system and runs on high-powered batteries so that they remain alive and working for more than two weeks in the sea water.
