Designed by Tigere Chiriga this floating mug is not magic but an actuality. It has a handle which has been designed to hold the cup off the ground and make it look as if it’s levitating from the ground. During its conception period, with a lot of research in place a manufacturer from China was bought into designing these porcelain mugs.
Once produced using the manufacturer, the designer now started making these in the U.S. alone. The designer found Kickstarter to fund it and to make it famous among people. Currently a prototype, this is not like any typical mug. The money that will get collected via Kickstarter will be used to manufacture a master mould of the mug and the handle. The designer believes that once a lot of money is collected, colours could also be played around with.
The only problem with making these mugs is that unlike normal ones during the glazing process, maintaining the mug at a hanging position in extreme heat-temperatures is very difficult. The porcelain mug goes through a lot of problems during this time. A minimum order of 500 units is necessary for the project to sustain itself. The designer hopes to deliver these floating mugs before Christmas.
