The new Ugard Resin Skin Case by iPhone will allow smartphone users to finally do what they’ve always dreamed about: stick their iPhones to things. Well, okay it’s not that crazy, but it only costs $20, which in many cases (no pun intended) is no more than a standard case. So if you’ve ever hoped to perch your phone on a window while you text, or station it on the wall in your kitchen so you can watch YouTube videos while you cook, this could be a purchase worth making, especially if you’ve got one of those Southwest credit card or other low interest rate credit cards we all pine for.
The green fluor resin based skin is made out of a special adhesive that leaves no trace. Intended for use with the iPhone 4 or 4S, the Ugard case is a full guard (meaning back and frame) that provides scratch protection, better grip, and offers a unique alternative to standard cases that can be both heavy and tacky. Made from anti-UV materials and quite durable, this skin should appeal to anyone who enjoys using the iPhone in an unusual ways. It’s also just a practical way to have a moveable interface, a feature that you can expect to be in more demand as the years go on.
I can think of a number of different uses for the Ugard Resin Skin. If you don’t have a GPS, you could post your phone on your windshield and get directions while driving or watch videos up close while on the treadmill. The possibilities are endless!
One caveat is that the hold is only temporary. In other words, don’t leave your iPhone mounted on the refrigerator for a day and expect it not to fall. Of course, for avid smartphone users this shouldn’t be a problem, as most people are not separated from their phones for more than a few minutes a day.
