Audi’s futuristic vision for external lighting in vehicles surely looks spectacular

Audi has always been at the innovative edge of automobile technology and bringing new unseen ideas to the four wheeler arena has always been their forte. They have numerous concept vehicle, hybrid models and futuristic wheels that can only be seen to be believed in. Taking things a notch higher in the external look and futuristic external lighting elements Audi now show us how futuristic vehicle will charm the commuters on the streets with their awe-inspiring new technology. For me it looks more like a 3D mapping show but in fact is not something that is projected onto the vehicle rather it is a part of the vehicle and Audi seems be giving us all a sneak peek into the future of external lighting on vehicles.

Looking like a vehicle from the movie Tron Audi demonstrates how a vehicle can be made to look eye-catching even without those sexy curves. Yes, I’m talking about the OLED technology that lends these futuristic Audi masterpieces their darn cool exterior lighting which will leave everyone amazed by the vividness.

The video below was shot in ‘tunnel of light’ basement of Audi Electronics Center in Ingolstadt which demonstrates this very vision. Audi’s future vehicles will have these flat polished external lighting surface enclosed in assembly which makes it waterproof and airtight fit for everyday use. Measuring only a mere one mm this surface will get illuminated when low voltage is applied and photons will be emitted in the electrical field. Have a look at the amazing video below and yes, I would like to repeat again that it is not 3D mapping show. And yes, do leave your views in the comments section.
