A creative 25 years old ID student Diego Cardenas has designed an amazing eco-friendly Bamboo bicycle in the Mexico City. Although the concept of this Bamboo cycle is not new it has been introduced in 1894 in a trade fair at London but Diego has made some changes while designing the Bamboo bicycle. He replaced the tubular section by using such a quick mounting stuff that cuts the metal content easily. The joints of the Bamboo bicycle are made up of steel and armored by the carbon fiber that makes it different from other bicycles.
Inspiration
The Industrial Designer Cardena’s attended a seminar of Bamboo in Europe and after he came back, he had a class of design trends at Mexico. He got fascinated towards the Bamboos and starts his research on the bamboo bicycle as he saw in the seminar. He finds that the bamboo grow faster and easy to harvest without using insect repellent. That amazed him and he starts his project.
He made bamboo bicycle getting inspired from the cycle he has seen in the workshop in Europe and flourished it in the Mexico. He claimed that the bicycle is green and light weighted than any other usual bicycles. The handmade designer bicycle of Diego Cardenas got the maximum appreciation from the people who ever saw it. The example of creative mind of Cardenas can be shown in his designed project. It is the best in its design and transportation. It is easy and safe to drive. A unique Bamboo bicycle has become a center of attraction between the people.
After the successful launch of these bikes, Diego Cardena’s formed a company of Bamboo bicycles with his partner Luis Cuellar in 2010. The cost of the bamboo bicycles are for just $800 U.S or 10,000 Mexican Pesos.
