Have you ever thought what way would you want your body to be treated once you’re done using it? There are many options you can choose from like the remains can be buried, burned, put in trees, or donated. Here, is yet another option you can pick from. Swedish company has come up with the idea of what it calls ‘Freeze drying’. It’s actually the eco friendly way that won’t take the toll on the environment.
Sweden based Promessa offers a method of burial that will freeze human bodies and shatter them into a million pieces. The body is then chilled to negative 18 degrees Celsius and then it is submerged in liquid nitrogen. When the body becomes colder, it gets more brittle which thereafter will be shocked with sound waves that crumble it into powder.
Well, the powder weighs about as much as a human body then the largest component of the human body like water is removed. The powder is put in a vacuum chamber where the water boils instantly in a vacuum, so the water steams out of the body. With it 70% of the body’s mass goes and the organic material of the body is left, mixed together with a metal parts like pace makers or other medical devices and mercury. The metal is separated out and the powder is sterilized and just the power is left behind. The remains turn into compost within a year and half. I would actually love my burial to be eco-friendly. What about you? Live green, die green; be a proud eco-friend!
